Yorkshire Attraction is a loose collection of songs inspired by the day to day life in a Northern pit village in the 1980's. It's set in Royston, a mining village on the outskirts of Barnsley in South Yorkshire. It's a series of semi-fictional, bleakly humorous vignettes that offer a highly personal cack handed but at times poetic insight into a community on the cusp of irrevocable change. These lo-fi recordings, often improvised offer rambling semi-conscious hallucinatory snap-shots into life in a Northern town.
